Knife Pivot Lube's Original is a 15 WT, fully-synthetic oil made for use in knives anywhere ultimate long-lasting smoothness is a must.
Pivot Lube™ keeps dirt, metal particles, and grit in suspension™ so they don't cause grinding and premature wear. KPL actually cleans your pivot as you use it.
We recommend our Original formula for all knife uses including:
• On all moving parts of any folding knife
• On flipper-deployed knives
• On detent tracks and bearings
• For knife disassembly, cleaning and lubrication
• As a rust preventive blade coating
KPL Heavy™ is a higher viscosity 75 WT version of the KPL you know and love. Heavy is highly thixotropic/shear thinning formula designed specifically for knife detents and detent tracks. Ordinarily gel-like, each time your lock mechanism clicks into place, the shock refluidizes KPL Heavy allowing it to refresh the lubrication of your detent ball.
Pivot Lube™ in this weight is recommended anywhere high sliding friction prevention is required.
• On detent tracks and detent balls
• On heavyweight blades and large folders
• On balisong (butterfly) knives
• On all knives where extreme water-resistance is required
KPL Ultra-Lite is a 5 WT, fully-synthetic oil made for use in knives anywhere ultimate long-lasting smoothness is a must. Knife Pivot Lube Knife Oil keeps dirt, metal particles, and grit in suspension so they don't cause grinding and premature wear. KPL actually cleans your pivot as you use it.
Pivot Lube™ in Ultra-Lite weight is recommended anywhere minimum fluid resistance is critical:
• Knives with Bearing Pivots
• Out-The-Front Knives
• Automatics (Switchblades)
• Traditional Folders
• Lightweight and fast deploying blades
Machined for stability and consistency, the Aluminum & Leather Strop is built for users who want absolute control during final edge refinement. The handle is CNC-machined from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum, giving it a substantial, premium feel in hand and exceptional flatness across the stropping surface. The added weight helps the strop stay planted, allowing for steady, repeatable passes without flex or chatter.
The stropping surface uses vegetable-tanned cowhide leather, bonded with industrial-grade adhesive for long-term durability. It’s sized for real sharpening workflows, and is optimized for diamond emulsion compounds, like Stroppy Stuff. When the leather eventually wears, it can be cleanly peeled off and replaced, extending the life of the strop indefinitely.
Thoughtful handle geometry keeps your fingers safely away from the blade edge while stropping, making this a reliable choice for both experienced sharpeners and those refining their technique. Built to last, built to perform, and built to stay flat.
Cleaning & Maintenance
If you plan to switch compounds or if the strop becomes contaminated, cleaning is recommended to maintain consistent performance.
Start by wiping the leather surface with a paper towel to remove excess compound. For deeper cleaning, a white vinyl eraser can be used to lift most remaining compound and is safe for the leather.
If additional cleaning is needed, 70% isopropyl alcohol may be used sparingly. Lightly spray the alcohol onto a towel and gently wipe the leather surface.
Do not soak the strop. Allow the leather to fully air dry before applying a new compound.
Do not soak the strop in water.
Do not use harsh solvents such as acetone, brake cleaner, or lacquer thinner, as these will damage the leather and adhesive.
Proper care will extend the life of the leather and ensure reliable stropping results over time.
